Flamenco dance lessons

Flamenco is a folk art originating from Andalusia, Spain. The song, dance and guitar are blended together and often improvised and spontaneous. This dance has very quick foot movements and is normally danced in troupes. Very dramatic and an excellent workout.

Flamenco tips

1. Its all about the timing and rhythm. You need to pay attention to what the beat value of all of your steps in order to dance Flamenco. Listen to the music and make sure to stay on the beat.

2. Put pressure into the floor. You need to put a lot of pressure into the floor with your feet. You cannot be “light” on your feet, instead dig them into the floor. That’s how you will get the rhythmical steps of this dance.

3. Practice! Flamenco is not an easy dance style…it requires a lot of practice and repetition in order to improve. Take at least 30 minutes everyday to practice.
