The 3 components are:
1. Timing
This would relate to understanding how to count the dance you are learning. How many beats each count gets and being able to express the music played. This is the first and most important element to get.
2. Steps and Footwork
The second most important dance element to learn relates to the steps and footwork. Can you dance the steps on your own and do you know the direction of every single step. What about footwork? Do you use the ball of the foot or the heel.
3. Lead and Follow
The last most important element to focus on is the leading and following techniques. Do you know how to lead your partner into the various moves. Do you know which part of the body needs to work in order to signal the lady where to go. And followers need to know how to follow their partner and react quickly to every lead.
