3 steps to choosing a DVD/Video

  Step 1.

Choose a style!

There are many reasons people learn to dance. Perhaps there is a social function in your future and you don't want to avoid the dance floor, or perhaps you are taking lessons in a certain style and want to supplement your lessons with practice at home. Having a tool to help you get the correct repetitions is a key to learning.

Step 2.

Choose a Dance.
In many styles there are more than 1 dance. for example Ballroom includes as many as 5 basic dances. Waltz-Tango-Foxtrot-Quickstep-Viennese Waltz. You may choose a tape that teaches the entire style or you may like to do it one dance at a time.
Step 3.
Choose a skill level.
Most video tapes come in three different skill levels. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Since there are so many styles of dance it is hard to detail what is what level.
A good scale would be the system used by Ballroom Schools. They have a Bronze, Silver and Gold level. If you have no experience then you would want a Beginner level tape. These tapes are going to offer instruction for the most fundamental aspects. If you have a little experience then you may be more suited for an Intermediate tape. The Intermediate tapes will add more variation and style to the basic steps. In many cases they are a continuation of the beginner level. The Advanced levels are for those dancers with more experience. Here you will get into more complicated material and detail to style and authenticity.

Finally, buy and see for yourself. We have the finest Instructional Video tapes on the market!
