June 1st ABC will premier an all new reality show based on Ballroom and Latin Dancing called Dancing with the Stars. Dance teams made up of professional dancers and celebrities will rehearse routines that they will perform live on TV and the viewers will determine who moves on to the next round. This 4 part series will air at 9 Eastern 8 Central on your local ABC station. Dancing with the Stars has broad appeal, offering viewers dazzling costumes, dancing, celebrity gossip, behind-the-scenes training and contemporary music performed by a live 15-piece band. The format has already been an international hit in several countries The Dance teams will perform the Waltz and the Cha Cha in the traditional costumes for each style. The professional dancers chosen are Ashly DelGrosso, Edyta Sliwinska, Charlotte Jorgensen, Louis van Amstel, Jonathan Roberts and Alec Mazo. Celebrity Dancers include, Trista Sutter (Reality Star), Rachel Hunter (Supermodel/Actress), Kelly Monaco (Actress), Joey McIntyre (Muscian/Actor), Evander Holyfield (Professional Boxer) and John O'Hurley (Actor/T V Host). Dancing with the Stars is the U.S. version of the international smash hit series, Strictly Come Dancing. This version is produced in America by BBC Worldwide. Richard Hopkins (UK) and Conrad Green (USA) are executive producers. Izzie Pick is supervising producer. Alex Rudzinski directs. This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
