Transcript of body rolls:
Hi I’m Keith Fitzpatrick this is easy to learn hip-hop and we’re going to go over a body roll. Now the thing with your body roll is you want to be able to start it at one position, maybe-, usually up here. And kind of roll it all the way down. Some people just roll and they’ll start here and kind of stop here. I usually like for it to go all the way through.
So, you’ll start at your head actually and kind of let it come all the way here, then it comes to your shoulders and your body rolls all the way down and then even to your legs it stops there. Okay, so I will have a piece, well choreographed and the roll will start here and you can either go straight back and stop or you can roll this way, put your body into it and then your feet go here too.
So either way, you’ll roll and stop. It’s always a start and a stop. If you go that way, your head is coming here — your body rolls and you stop. It is something that can be in transition, too. If you are sliding here, you roll and stop, either way, but you just want to make sure that you isolate each part so it doesn’t just look like you’re just flopping around.
You start with your head, roll, and each individual part has its position and a stop. So again, you’re starting — if you are rolling sideways you’ll go that way, bop. If you’re rolling this way you’ll go here, boom. If you are going straight back, you’ll just head back that way. Now if you are rolling with a sideways roll, then you’ll come here and you’ll start to the side and roll it all the way down. Other way, you roll it all the way down.
Either way, just make sure you are starting here and your body is going all the way through. All right, that’s your body roll.
