America's Ballroom Challenge on PBS

PBS has brought back one of it's most popular programs ever, Championship Ballroom Dancing, renamed America's Ballroom Challenge. The show, hosted by Marilu Henner and Tony Meredith, and produced by Aida Moreno, is filmed during the Ohio Star Ball, which typically takes place the week before Thanksgiving in Columbus, Ohio. The Ohio Star Ball is one of the biggest and most prestigious competitions in the USA. Dancers from all over the world demonstrate their skills in the American Style of Ballroom (Smooth) and Latin (Rhythm), as well as the International Styles of Ballroom and Latin.

A number of positive changes made to the current production of the show include the addition of American style dancing, and dancing partnerships between a Professional and an Amateur couple. Previously, only International style dancing was shown, and only between Professional couples. The new format also includes the final round of the Professional competitions in the American and International styles, followed by a Show Dance of the top 3 couples in each division to crown America's top Professional couple.

America's Ballroom Dancing is an entertaining and fun show that you won't want to miss.

It will air throughout the year, but the original dates were February 1st and 8th, 2006. Check your local listings for show times.
