Week 3 brought
the Jive and Tango
to the ballroom of
Dancing With The
Stars. This is how I
saw week 3.
Sabrina and
Mark
They had a great
song that really
sets the mood for
the Jive and I
thought they matched
that energy
tremendously.
Sabrina is very fast
with her feet and is
a great performer.
Outside of that I
was not as impressed
as I was the first
week. She had
trouble with the
chassies. Her legs
never made it
together and she
looked like she was
laboring to complete
some of the actions.
I was also a bit
disappointed with
the choreography too.
That routine was
great the first time
I saw Mark's mom and
dad do it in the
late 80's, just
before Michael
Jackson went
completely off the
reservation. It will
be interesting to
see how Sabrina does
when she has to dance
a slow dance.
Cameron and
Edyta
Cameron is
improving and has
great potential, but
this dance was not a
very good Tango. It
was a Tango
according to the
steps they danced,
but it did not look
like any Tango I
have seen in my 20+
years of dancing.
Cameron's saving
grace may be that
Wayne is still on
the show.
Mark and Kym
Mark was better
than I expected. He
does a great job
with the
presentation and
always looks like he
is having fun. He
needs to work on his
footwork. He spends
to much time on his
heels. The other
complaint I have
with Mark is
sometimes he makes
some goofy faces.
Jennie and
Derek
Jennie has a
great look on the
floor. She is
graceful and has the
the power to do all
the dances. I think
the Tango was the
best dance for her
so far. Her left
side was down way to
much and most of the
quick changes were
done with the arms
not the body. But
she should stay
another week.
Mel B and
Maksim
For me Mel was
one of the top 2
from this week. She
had great speed and
ergy to go along
with very nice use
of her legs and
feet. Most of all
she looked relaxed
and moved with ease.
Wayne and
Cheryl
Where do I start.
Wayne may be a great
entertainer, but for
me there was nothing
entertaining about
this Tango. It was
like Abbott and
Costello do Tango.
Fortunately for
Cameron, Wayne did
the Tango this week.
Floyd and
Karina
Floyd is
improving every
week. He has a great
personality and
rhythm and shows
them on the dance
floor. His greatest
weakness as a dancer
may be his greatest
strength as a boxer.
He keeps his upper
body closed up
instead of standing
tall and wide. of
course a boxer that
stood tall and wide
would get hit a lot.
He needs to work on
this the most.
Jane and Tony
Jane is my other
favorite for top
dancer of the
week. Her Tango
hold was super
and she moved
and portrayed
the Tango as it
should be done.
She was
fantastic.
Helio and
Julianne
Helio is by
far the best of
the men. He has
a contagious
personality and
is not a bad
dancer. This
dance did not
suit him as much
as the others
have, but in all
he did a great
job.
Marie and
Jonathan
Marie did
well with her
Tango. She held
the hold very
well and shows
well on the
floor. Her steps
were clean and
in line with the
character of the
Tango. As long
as I have known
Jonathan he has
done a great job
of making his
students look
good by keeping
the steps in
line with what
they can do.
Who do I
think is going
home this week?
Well as we have
seen from season
past, it is not
always the worst
dancer that gets
sent home, but
this week it
should be Wayne.
